What ClearWater has Meant for My Daughter

As my daughter nears the end of her time at ClearWater, I am overcome with a lot of emotions. The one that is the strongest is gratitude! When she was approaching High School, I was at a loss as to how to help her be her best. She had been in inclusive classrooms her whole academic career, and the plan was for her to go to our local public school to be in the Bridges Program, but I was so uneasy and felt that it would be difficult for her to navigate a high school that was even larger than her Middle School, where she had already shut down.

My boss told me about ClearWater Academy (CWA), so I went to visit. I loved it and felt it would be the right choice for my daughter. For the past 5 years, while my daughter has been at CWA I have had confidence that while she is there she is safe and cared for and her knowledge and skills are being developed every day. I am so very thankful for the individualized instruction she has received over the years. One of my daughter’s biggest strengths is her heart. She really cares for others and CWA has tapped into that and helped her to grow her skills in life situations. They have helped her to take ownership of ideas, assignments, chores and even mistakes. They help her do the “hard” things and give her strategies that pour over into the rest of her life.

The season we are approaching is unknown and scary. I do not know what my daughter’s future looks like, and now that she is an adult I feel a tremendous amount of responsibility in trying to help her find a “fit.” I have so much hope because she has benefitted tremendously from her time at ClearWater. The past few years she has participated in great career preparation with several different jobs in the community. I know God has a plan for her future, and I will always be so thankful to Him for the time He gave her at ClearWater. There are no words to express how I feel towards the staff at ClearWater. I entrusted them with my daughter, and they helped her be the absolute best she can be in every area of life. I will always be grateful and I will always say that ClearWater saved our family! ClearWater is how we found out about Miracle League and how we got the name of a wonderful family counselor. It is a community of people who help one another, and I will miss being a part of it so much!
